Wood Meadows

The Wood Meadows area of town.

Seen on Rochdale Drive

I don't know how this hubcap ended up here. One would assume someone placed it like this.

I counted wrong.

Actually, four Esso gas stations have closed in my immediate area.

Two on Victoria Avenue.
One on Dewdney and Cavendish.
And this one, Dewdney Avenue and Park Street.
Like 3 out of the 4, it's a gravel-covered lot. Today someone with a trailerload of suspiciously cheap running shoes was there...

Do you have one of these?

I always thought A&W was American, but I've never seen one in the U.S.

I believe the A&W stands for Albert and Walter, co-founders.

People do exist in Regina

Ok, for those of you who complained that I always purposely avoid taking pictures with people in them... here! Rollerbladers!

Notice that the girl wears some proper safety equipment while the boy wears none.

In the middle of the prarie, an oasis

Beautiful day in the park, again

The park is always my favorite subject.

The Plains Ex-hospital

The Plains Hospital. Or it was. I remember being there as a kid, and as a teenager... It's also where my paternal grandfather was being brought to, from 2 1/2 hours away, when he died.

It's not a hospital anymore, however. Now it is SIAST, a technical college. It was converted a few years ago. It was the newest, best hospital at the time, but it was on the edge of town, on an edge that never grew, so basically it was in the middle of nowhere. So... closed!

Downtown Regina from the southeast

In the foreground left, the Imax section of the Science Center. Behind it, from left to right, the Hotel Saskatchewan where the Queen always stays when she is in town, then the SaskPower building (has the antennae on the roof). Almost completely obscured, Regina's twin towers, the Hill McCallum buildings.

The bridge

I could have sworn this was attached to the shoreline... yet it appears to have floated off aways.

April

The thaw has begun!
