What truly matters at this time of year

It's not a line of Boxing Day proportions, but this was the scene at Regina's Best Buy this morning as people lined up it hopes of getting their share of a small shipment of Wii and PS3 gaming consoles.

Inside one of the employees seemed delighted to tell latecomers they were out of luck.

American response

Regina isn't that far from the Air Force Base in Minot, North Dakota.

Winter storm watch

The forecast for this afternoon is for gusty winds resulting in blowing snow and locally reduced visibilities. So far it's only windy and cold.

Halloween approaches

The hanging guy is actually kicking and squirming, and some of the other displays are moving as well. A perennial favorite.

Wild rabbit

As seen in Wascana Park several times throughout the month of October.

I don't believe that this species is native to Saskatchewan. A pet bunny gone wild perhaps?

October in Wascana Park

Looking north from the south shore, McCallum-Hill twin towers in the background.

Looking westward on the south shore, the lake littered with geese.

Actually, it's just some kids at the local paintball place.

Sobey's Strike continues into year two.

Sobey's workers on strike on a beautiful Saturday.

Not the greatest pics, but I was scared and ran off as soon as I could.

Traffic is quite backed up on Albert Street in this area. Not sure what the police were doing there.

Fall is here...

Current Broad Street Bridge in the background, foreground is old Broad Street Bridge which has been converted into a waterfall.

The legislature buildings...

That's a lot of waterfowl!
